Architecturally Croft’s Cove is a classic example of Mr. Haywood Newkirk Sr. an original architect for Figure Eight Island. This house represents one of the most outstanding designs in the surrounding Topsail to historic Wilmington, NC bed and breakfasts. As you ascend the river wood pine stairs, the allure of the spacious porch prevails upon you to slow down, relax and enjoy.

During your visit you can browse the many delightful shops at Topsail Island or just take a walk down to the house’s dock and watch the sun set as pin fish, crab, and shrimp scamper among the dock’s pilings. Enjoy a dinner of fresh seafood from one of the many restaurants on the island. No franchises but fabulous chef prepared food and views to give you that “Aah” moment. Listen to local musicians at the Quarter Moon Bookstore on South Topsail Beach or visit one of the local establishments for laughter, good food, and great company.

The Wilmington area is a short drive on Highway 17 which becomes the infamous Market Street running right through that historic city. Tour the Riverfront Park and enjoy the view or the sunset over the Battleship North Carolina. Wilmington is designated as a Coast Guard City and the home port to the USCGC Diligence. Wilmington’s nightlife is also alive and well. Enjoy fine dining, and good music like jazz, blues, classical and varied artists who perform in the area
